Michael Gardner, Director of Community Relations Visiting Nurse - Michael is responsible for leading our agency's community relations team, which is tasked with public relations; corporate communications; operation of our VNA Hidden Treasures resale boutique; and the operation of our seasonal flu/pneumonia vaccination program. Michael earned his BA in English and a technical writing minor from Penn State University, and he also holds an MA in Publications Design from the University of Baltimore. His background includes public relations, communications, business development, marketing, and program management in a variety of industries, including: consulting engineering/architecture, research and development engineering, water quality, printing, micrographics, and analytical equipment. Lisa Gurri, CEO - Community Health Expert. For 22 years, Gurri worked within the health care system known since 1995 as Health First, many of those in the HOPE clinic system that was the precursor of the Brevard Health Alliance — every year preparing her for what she now calls the job "that grounds my life."
After helping start the BHA as a Health First employee and then chairing its first Board of Directors, Gurri took on the Chief Executive Officer's role at the BHA last fall, allowing inaugural CEO Tom Culbreth to semi-retire and work part-time as the organization's Chief Financial Officer. Kim Zipper, MD - Anti-aging Medical Expert. Dr. Kim Zipper received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA and her Medical Degree from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL where she did her residency. She is Fellowship Trained in Anti-Aging Medicine and Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the American Society For Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS). M.J. Castellon, M.D., FACS - Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, After successfully completing one of the most well respected plastic surgery training programs in the United States, Dr. Castellon became board-certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. Dr. Castellon opened the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center in order to provide the best quality plastic surgery care. He was invited to be a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons in 2004. Dr. Castellon was inducted into the world's most respected cosmetic surgery society, known as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, which is at the forefront of innovation in aesthetic plastic surgery around the world. He serves as the sector Chair of plastic surgery for Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
His training includes general, plastic and reconstructive surgery at Albany Medical Center in New York. His undergraduate study was at the University of Florida and he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Ponce School of Medicine. Ralph Zipper, MD - Urogynecology Expert. Dr. Zipper is one of the nation's most recognized thought leaders and post-doctoral instructors in urogynecology. He has personally trained over 1,000 surgeons in his techniques. He is the inventor of some of the newest and most promising techniques and devices for the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse including a sling method with a 99 percent success rate. In 2009, he founded GyneShape, a company which manufactures GynePulseVRL and DiamondVRL lasers used in his patented vaginal and labial rejuvenation procedures. He is credited with creating the world's first Incisionless Vaginal Rejuvenation procedure.
Dr. Zipper attended the University of Connecticut and remains a devout Husky fan. He completed his graduate training at New York City's Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His post doctoral work and Urogynecology training was completed at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital.
